Herb’s Coins began with one man’s genuine fascination with currency – sparked, in part, by years spent overseas where every country had its own coins, its own history stamped into metal. That curiosity turned into a business, and that business turned into a Charlotte County institution.
For over 50 years, through several locations and a lot of change in this town, the shop has stayed rooted in three simple principles: treat people fairly, know your stuff, and let your reputation do the talking.

In January 2026, ownership of Herb’s Coins passed to the next generation of the family – continuing a legacy built over five decades while bringing the shop into the modern era. That means new tools: AI-assisted customer service to make sure your calls get answered quickly, the ability to pay with Bitcoin at the counter, and an expanding online presence so the shop can serve customers beyond those who can walk through the front door.
But the foundation hasn’t changed. We still believe in:

- Education over pressure — we’d rather you understand what you have than feel rushed into a decision
- Being part of this community — not just a business that operates in it
What’s Next
